These beautiful sets of bookends are often made by one of our more experienced carvers, John. African Elephants stand majestic and tall, trunk slightly curled, as if lazily wandering about to search for a meal in the hot African sun. A complete set of tusks carved from bone is included, each one fitting neatly into the trunks. Each animal stands tall next to a carved representation of a book, forming a hefty support for even the most unstable book collection. Finally, each finished carving is gently buffed until an almost waxy finish is achieved. This piece is of functional fine art is of the highest quality in material and craftsmanship, and will add an element of class to any bookshelf.
Each piece is hand-carved and therefore unique. Approximate size, each bookend: 6" tall by 5" wide by 5" deep (not counting the tusks). Set of 2.
